Witnesses called police after seeing a woman jump from the Congress Street Bridge in Watervliet shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, according to preliminary radio traffic. Schenectady resident Reuben Sangster, age 22, was arrested Wednesday, May 17, on suspicion of criminally negligent homicide, according to Watervliet Police. Albany County resident Michael Smith, of Cohoes, was arrested following a traffic stop in Watervliet late Monday night, Jan. 9, according to Watervliet Police. Officers stopped Smith at around 11:30 p.m. near 25th Street and Second Avenue for vehicle and traffic law violations.
