The murder took place in Orange County on Thursday, Sept. 29, in the City of Newburgh. City of Newburgh Police Commissioner Jose Gomerez announced Tuesday, Nov. 22 that Lamont Williams, age 29, no known address, was arrested in North Carolina following a months-long investigation. The shooting took place in Orange County around 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29 in the city of Newburgh. The victims were found when Newburgh police officers on patrol heard gunfire in the area of Washington Street and Clark Street, said City of Newburgh Police Chief Anthony Geraci. It happened in Orange County around 1:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23 in Newburgh, on Liberty Street. According to Newburgh Police, officers responded to the area of 79 Liberty St. for a Shotspotter report of five shots fired. Less than a minute later the department received another report of rounds fired on Washington Street, police said.
