Police To Target Speeding, Aggressive Drivers During NY Enforcement Crackdown Speeding drivers, watch out — police in New York are set to crack down on aggressive motorists during a weeklong enforcement crackdown.  The "Speed Week" enforcement initiative, which will begin on Monday, June 3, and continue through Sunday, June 9, will target speeding and aggressive drivers throughout New York, Gov. Police Dish Out 50 Tickets In I-684 Distracted Driver Detail Dozens of tickets were dished out by New York State Police troopers during a distracted driving detail on I-684 in Northern Westchester. New York State Police troopers from the Somers barracks issued 50 vehicle and traffic tickets to drivers committing various violations on a stretch of the interstate on Saturday, Feb. 1. During the detail, troopers dished out 17 speeding tickets, eight tickets to motorists violating the "move over law," 10 for cell phone infractions, four drivers for not wearing a seatbelt, and 11 others for various violations. Buckle Up: Police Cracking Down On Unsafe Seatbelt Practices In State Parks New York State Police will soon begin to crack down on improper and unsafe seatbelt use throughout state parks. “BUNY in the Parks” is an enforcement and educational campaign implemented by New York State Police, the New York State Park Police and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. Its goal is to help ensure that visitors of state parks are buckling up and staying safe. The campaign is also intended to teach the importance of properly securing younger visitors in approved child safety seats. Police Dish Out 52 Speeding Tickets In I-684 Detail Nearly 100 motorists were ticketed on Wednesday, as New York State Police troopers conducted a special speed enforcement detail on I-684 in Northern Westchester. During the special detail on Wednesday, Jan. 10 in Bedford and North Castle, 52 motorists were cited for speeding on the interstate while another 28 were issued for failure to wear a seatbelt, distracted driving and various other vehicle and traffic infractions.
