Motorists Experience Major Delays On July 4th Getaway Day

A crash caused the closure of a stretch of the Saw Mill River Parkway near the border of Mount Kisco and Chappaqua. New York State Homes and Community Renewal and Wilder Balter Partners announced the completion of a $21 million affordable housing development in the Chappaqua section of the Town of New Castle. Area Residents Welcome New Apartments At Historic Reader's Digest Site
Ginny Enright, 85, has lived in Chappaqua for the past 54 years. Now, Enright is one of the first residents of Chappaqua Crossing Apartments. Her friend of over 50 years just moved in, too. "I was ready to sell my house and not have the responsibilities and it seemed ideal to be able to come here, where I would be in the same town and be able to use the same facilities as I had been using," said Enright, who works at the Chappaqua Public Library. Pickup Truck Bursts Into Flames After Crash At I-684/Saw Mill Junction
This story has been updated. Smoke was sent billowing through the air when a pickup truck became fully engulfed in flames at the merger of I-684 and the Saw Mill River Parkway on Thursday morning. First responders were dispatched at approximately 11 a.m. to I-684, at the Saw Mill River Parkway juncture near exit 43 in Katonah, where there was a multi-vehicle crash that left one car in flames near the guardrail of the southbound lanes.
