Teen Driver Charged In Man’s Death On I-84 A Sandy Hook teen has been arrested in the death of a pedestrian on I-84 last May, according to the Connecticut State Police. Michael Alan Vitti, 19, was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, failure to drive in the proper lane and distracted driving (not a cellphone), according to state police. Vitti, who state police say was distracted while driving, hit and killed Gerard Mauskapf, 64, of Red Hook in Dutchess County near Exit 11.
