2 Men From Region Nabbed Cutting Copper Pipes Off Heating Unit, Police Say
Two men from the region were charged with felony burglary after allegedly being caught inside a home cutting copper pipes off of a heating system.
The incident occurred in Sullivan County around 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 1 in the town of Thompson at 409 Rock Hill Drive.
According to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and found the two men identified as Damien Somolinos, age 34, and Richard Galeano, Jr, age 51, both of Rock Hill, inside a residence, cutting copper pipes off of the heating system.

Teen Nabbed After Stealing Pistols, Rifles In Sullivan County, Police Say
A teen was charged with a felony after stealing five firearms and a rare coin collection while staying with family friends in the area, said state police.
According to police, 19-year-old Sullivan County resident Theo Gilbert, of Rock Hill, was found in possession of the following:
a stolen Walther PP32 automatic pistol,
a .380 Sig Sauer,
a Marlin 99 lever-action long gun,
a Remington long fun with a scope,
and a Ruger .22 semi-automatic rifle.
The coins that he stole were valued between $3,000 and $4,000, said police.

Two Teens Struck, Killed By Car Driven By Retired Judge, NY State Police Say
A pair of teenagers have died after being fatally struck by an 86-year-old former judge, New York State Police investigators in the Hudson Valley announced.
Justin Finkel, 14, and Devin Zeninger, 16, residents of the hamlet of Rock Hill in Sullivan County, have been identified as the victims who were struck at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, while crossing Glen Wild Road in the town of Thompson. A third teen also suffered minor injuries, though it is not believed that he was struck by the car.
