Man From Region Caught Stealing Copper Pipes, Police Say A man from the region was arrested after allegedly being caught in the basement of a housing complex sawing off copper pipes. Sullivan County resident Joshua Whidbee, age 44, of Monticello, was nabbed on Monday, Dec. 13, after the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a burglary. According to Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Sunny Forest Bungalow Colony on Liberty Road in the town of Thompson. Burglary Suspect Nabbed Inside Occupied Northern Westchester Home, Police Say A local man was arrested on burglary and other charges after he allegedly broke into an occupied Northern Westchester home. Westchester County Police received a call shortly before 11:30 a.m., Sunday, March 1, reporting a burglary was in progress at 68 Maple Avenue, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the department. Another person said the resident had just confronted an intruder in his apartment.
