Update: Suspect In Multi-County Chase In Dutchess Hit Cars, Fled Into State Park, Police Say
Police have released more details about a Hudson Valley chase that spanned multiple counties, including that the suspect rammed police vehicles, drove through a state park, and narrowly missed pedestrians before being apprehended.
The incident unfolded in Putnam County on Wednesday, Nov. 27, beginning with a reported domestic assault on Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel, according to the Carmel Police Department.

Stranded Driver In Capital Region Flees From Troopers, Strikes Cop Cars: Police
They say no good deed goes unpunished, and that was apparently the case when New York State Police troopers stopped to help a stranded driver in the region.
Troopers in Rensselaer County stopped at around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, to assist a disabled vehicle in the Town of Brunswick, on State Route 2.
According to troopers, at some point during their interaction the driver, 52-year-old Michael Messier, of Troy, became uncooperative and ignored their commands.
Messier then fled in his car, striking police vehicles in the process, troopers said. No troopers were injured in the ordeal.

A Long Island man faces grand larceny charges after robbing a gas station before leading authorities on a multi-county chase and fighting officers in Westchester, police said.
The incident began on Wednesday, March 1, around 5:15 a.m., when sheriff's deputies in Putnam County were sent to a Gulf gas station in Southeast at 1565 Route 22 for an armed robbery, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
