The largest family-owned chain of musical instrument stores in the nation has announced it will be closing all its locations.
Sam Ash Music was founded in 1924, has locations in more than a dozen states, and is headquartered on Long Island, in Hicksville.
It currently has 27 stores, including five in New York (White Plains, Carle Place, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Forest Hills), two in New Jersey (in Springfield and Cherry Hill), two in Pennsylvania (in Philadelphia and King of Prussia), one in Connecticut (in New Haven), and one in Virginia (in Richmond).

The US Geological Survey said the quake, which occurred at 10:23 a.m. measured a 4.8 on the Richter scale, and had a depth of 0.62 miles. It reportedly originated in Hunterdon County, New Jersey in the borough of Lebanon, about 60 miles west of midtown Manhattan.

Rite Aid Announces 20 NY Stores Slated For Closure After Declaring Bankruptcy
Rite Aid has announced specific store closures just days after the struggling pharmacy chain filed for bankruptcy.
Of the 154 closures nationwide announced on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 20 are in New York, 14 of which are on Long Island.
Rite Aid currently has 2,100 stores and about 45,000 employees.

A suspect from the Hudson Valley is in custody after robbing a bicyclist at gunpoint, township police say.
Ulster County resident Antwan Clayton Jones, age 42, of Ellenville, is charged with robbery, terroristic threats, and related counts, the department wrote in a release.

Caught: Suspect Nabbed For NY Deaths Of Ex-Wife, Girlfriend
A man wanted by police in connection with the homicide deaths of his ex-wife and girlfriend in New York was captured on the run in Pennsylvania.
Timothy Taylor, age 35, was arrested in Philadelphia’s Center City neighborhood on Friday morning, June 2, following a joint investigation by Philadelphia Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.
The arrest capped weeks of searching for Taylor, who was wanted in connection with the homicide deaths of his girlfriend, 37-year-old Theresa Gregg, of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and his ex-wife, 44-year-old Tishawn Folkes-Taylor, of Schenectady.
