2 Cruisers Struck By Speeding Vehicle During Pursuit In Northern Westchester, Police Say Two police cruisers were struck by a vehicle during a high-speed chase on a busy road in Northern Westchester, authorities said.  The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon, April 19 in Briarcliff Manor, when police tried to stop a speeding vehicle on Route 9A northbound. When the vehicle did not stop, a brief chase then started. Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Northern Westchester This story has been updated. A male pedestrian was killed overnight after being struck by a vehicle in Northern Westchester. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 in Buchanan on Albany Post Road (Route 9A) between the railroad bridge and Bleakley Avenue near the Peekskill border. Officers from the Buchanan and Westchester County police departments, along with MTA Police, responded. Crashes Cause I-84, Saw Mill Parkway Delays This story has been updated. There were delays on two of the major roadways in the area just as the evening commute got underway Friday. The left lane on I-84 was blocked westbound in Dutchess County for more than an hour at Lime Kiln Road (Exit 15) in Hopewell Junction. There were stop-and-go delays on the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway following a crash that initially blocked the right lane. The northbound incident occurred in Hawthorne at Route 9A/Saw Mill River Road (Exit 23) with residual delays after the lane reopened around 5 p.m. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Route 9A Closure Scheduled There will be weekend lane closures on Route 9A in Westchester. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that from approximately 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, there will be a lane closed in Mount Pleasant between Route 141 and Route 117. Officials said that motorists can expect delays, and have been advised to seek alternate routes, when possible. Flaggers will be in the area to assist with the flow of traffic.
