One Killed In Crash Between Car, Tow Truck In Northern Westchester
One person was killed and another injured during a crash between a tow truck and a car in Northern Westchester. It happened around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 on Saw Mill River Road (Route 100) near the Taconic State Parkway in Millwood. According to the New Castle Police, when officers arrived on the scene they found one person dead and another with minor injuries. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. A Northern Westchester school was temporarily placed in a lockout due to a police investigation, officials said. In Yorktown, the George Washington Elementary School in the Lakeland Central School District, entered its lockout early in the day on Tuesday, Jan 25 due to state police activity hundreds of yards away from the building. A family feud over a borrowed car could lead to criminal charges for a man in Northern Westchester after police were brought into the fold. On Saturday, Jan. 8, an Emmalon Avenue resident in North Castle advised investigators at the police department that she had allowed her nephew to borrow her vehicle in October 2021, and he has since refused to return it. A business in the Hudson Valley has become the latest to be targeted by high-tech fraudsters who targeted the company’s direct deposit database to re-route cash being sent to an employee, police said. A former attorney in Northern Westchester is facing charges for allegedly stealing millions of dollars from her clients over the course of several years, authorities announced. Armonk real estate lawyer Laurieanne DeLitta, age 50, was indicted by a grand jury and arraigned on Wednesday, Nov. 10 for allegedly stealing more than $3.5 million from clients she represented between 2017 and 2021. Police arrested a 44-year-old man after he allegedly crashed his vehicle while intoxicated in Northern Westchester. Two people were seriously injured during a three-vehicle crash in Northern Westchester. The crash took place around 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9, on the Taconic Parkway in Yorktown in the area of the AMVET’s Bridge in Yorktown. 20-Year-Old From Northern Westchester Sentenced For Fatally Stabbing Teen
A man will spend decades in prison after fatally stabbing a teenager in Northern Westchester and proceeding to attack a fellow detainee while in jail. Jahliv Niles, age 20, of Peekskill, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision for the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Omarion McKenzie.
