The owner of a popular restaurant in the region will avoid jail time after confessing that he abandoned a woman’s cat in sub-freezing temperatures. Saratoga County resident Anthony Gargano, age 49, of Gansevoort, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of violating the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law in Milton Town Court on Tuesday, March 5. 3 Dogs Starved, Left In 'Severe State Of Malnutrition' By Capital Region Woman, Police Say
A woman from the region is facing animal cruelty charges after allegedly starving her three dogs. Saratoga County resident Alexis Hagadorn-Garmley, age 27, of Ballston Spa, was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 11, after deputies found the animals in a “severe state of malnutrition,” according to sheriff’s officials. Deputies began investigating the woman in September 2023 after getting a “dog-at-large” complaint from the Town of Milton Animal Control Office. Man Accused Of Trapping Neighbor's Cat In Area
A serial animal abandoner from Dutchess County is facing charges after being busted by the Putnam County SPCA for allegedly trapping and leaving a neighbor’s cat in the woods, authorities announced. Daniel Anastasia, a 62-year-old resident of Birchwood Park Mobile Homes on Route 9 in the Town of Wappinger has been accused of allegedly trapping one of his neighbors’ cats on his property and transporting it to a wooded section of Reservoir Road in the Town of Southeast.
