NY State Agencies Prepare Emergency Response For Nor'easter
New York State is preparing its emergency response as a low-pressure system is expected to bring heavy rainfall to parts of the state.
The storm is set to move across Long Island, New York City, and the Hudson Valley. The first round of rain is expected to begin the night of Monday, Oct. 25, and become heavy Tuesday, Oct. 26.

A 34-year-old Hudson Valley man was one of two survivors in a helicopter crash that killed two people in upstate New York late Tuesday afternoon.
Two utility workers were killed and two others hurt when the maintenance chopper got caught on power lines and crashed, catching fire in cornfields in Beekmantown, north of Plattsburgh, near the Canadian border.

Thousands Still Without Power In Dutchess
Electric service was restored to more than half of the nearly 110,000 customers impacted by the storm, though strong winds continue to impact the region, according to Central Hudson.
As of 7 a.m. Saturday, approximately 53,000 customers remained without electric service in nearly 1,200 individual damage locations, following a damaging Nor’easter that brought soaking rains, sustained winds, powerful wind gusts and nearly two feet of heavy, wet snow to some northern areas.
