Veterinary workers immediately knew something was wrong when a 6-year-old female pit bull arrived at an animal hospital in the region severely underweight and semi-conscious. Colleagues and loved ones are mourning the loss of a volunteer firefighter and expectant father from the region following his death. William Wade, of Halfmoon in Saratoga County, died at home Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the age of 33, according to his obituary. A cause of death was not given. An elderly man who got out of his car in the middle of a Capital District highway was struck and killed by another vehicle, authorities said. The incident happened in Albany County at around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, on I-787 in the village of Menands. Police Investigating Abuse Of 'Severely Injured' Puppy Found In Capital District
A 10-to-14-week-old puppy is recovering after police in the Capital District found her suffering from severe abuse, authorities said. Schenectady Police were called Tuesday, Aug. 9, and found the animal severely injured and unable to stand on her own. Animal Control officers removed the dog and brought her to the emergency vet, where she received critical, lifesaving treatment, police said. A Capital District man is behind bars after he was allegedly busted driving drunk in a work zone and then tried running from police.
