Man Breaks Into Home, Stabs Resident In Capital Region, Police Say A 48-year-old man is accused of breaking into a home in the region and stabbing a resident. The Saratoga County incident happened Friday, Jan. 12 in the town of Malta, at a residence on Knabner Road. Sheriff’s officials said deputies were called at around 12:45 a.m. for a disturbance call. An investigation found that George Tinoco, of Saratoga Springs, entered the home through a window while armed with a knife. He allegedly then stabbed a woman in her arm. Police have arrested a suspected hit-and-run driver hours after he allegedly struck and killed a woman at a crosswalk in the region. The Saratoga County incident happened at around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, on State Route 50 in the town of Ballston. A preliminary investigation found that a vehicle was driving northbound on State Route 50 when it struck a woman in a marked crosswalk near Brookline Road, according to New York State Police. Robbery Spree: Man Targets Businesses In Capital Region For Quick Cash, Police Say A man is behind bars in connection with a string of robberies targeting businesses in the region. Police in Saratoga County were initially called Sunday evening, Sept. 3, for a robbery in Saratoga Springs at the Ben & Jerry’s on Phila Street, according to police. Investigators said 40-year-old Daniel McKay, of Amsterdam in Montgomery County, walked in and told an employee he was robbing the store. He implied that he had a gun but did not show any weapon. The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and McKay fled the scene, police said. No customers or employees were injured.…
