A suicidal man ran to a Hudson Valley bridge and climbed a girder after spotting police who were responding to a call of a potential bridge jumper. A 28-year-old Hudson Valley man was apprehended after an hours-long standoff with police. The incident began in Dutchess County around 9 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 21 Pleasant View Road in the town of Poughkeepsie. Just after 9 a.m., a deputy from the Sheriff’s Office’s Civil Division went to the home of Shawn R. Magliocchino in Poughkeepsie for the purpose of serving an eviction warrant, said Capt. A three-hour standoff with police led to the arrest of a Hudson Valley man who threatened to kill officers after allegedly stabbing one person and attacking another. 'Person In Crisis' Hospitalized After Hours-Long Standoff In Area, Police Say
A person described as being "in crisis" was hospitalized following an hours-long standoff with responders at a residence in the area. At about 10:50 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 24 in Putnam County, the Carmel Police Department received a call to check on the welfare of a person in crisis at a residence on Union Valley Road.
