Oil Truck Crashes Down Embankment, Causing Fuel Leak In Area An oil tanker crashed down an embankment, causing a fuel leak that firefighters are still busy soaking up. The crash took place around 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, in Putnam Valley on Hollowbrook Road, officials said. The driver was not injured, but firefighters with the Putnam Valley Department are using absorbent pads to stop the oil from leaking into the nearby Hollow Brook, the department said. Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department and Montrose VA Fire Department and the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services Hazmat Team assisted with the call.

Putnam Man Faces DWI Charge After Backing Into Patrol Car, Sheriff Says A Putnam man is facing DWI charges after allegedly driving erratically, according to Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley said. Deputies were dispatched to the area of Hollowbrook Road and Oscawana Lake Road in the Town of Putnam Valley on the report of an erratic driver on Monday, Feb. 25 around 10:30 a.m. Upon arriving on scene and canvassing the area, the deputies observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations on Oscawana Lake Road.
