Governor Provides Update On Wildfires In Hudson Valley As the wildfires continue to burn across the Hudson Valley, Gov. Kathy Hochul updated what's being done to mitigate and contain them. On Tuesday, Nov. 12, Hochul said a multi-agency response had been deployed to fires in Orange and Ulster counties in close coordination with local fire departments and first responders.  According to Hochul, an aerial investigation shows the Orange County fire named the Jennings Creek/Sterling State Park wildfire in New York and New Jersey now encompasses 5,000 acres, half of which is in New York, and is 10 percent contained in both states. Injured Hiker From Capital District Rescued On Mount Marcy A 57-year-old hiker had to be rescued after suffering a serious injury on New York’s tallest mountain peak. Emergency crews were called at around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, with reports of a hiker with a “significant” knee injury near the summit of Mount Marcy in the Town of North Elba in Essex County. A New York State Police aviation unit attempted to land near the man’s location, but was prevented from doing so due to strong winds in the area, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). Video: Coyote Chases Deer In Front Yard Of Area Home It wasn't a roadrunner, but a coyote failed to get his mark during a chase with an animal in Northern Westchester. A coyote was caught on a doorbell camera in Yorktown Heights chasing a deer before veering off and heading in a different direction in defeat.  The surveillance video was taken near the Jefferson Valley Mall off of Oakside Road. The homeowner noted that she originally thought it to be a fox chasing the deer, but ultimately determined that it was a coyote that may have been making the rounds in Westchester. You can see it play out at the very start of the video here. …
