I-84 Stop Leads To Drugs, Weapons Charges For Couple
An I-84 traffic stop by New York State Police troopers led to the arrests of a couple who were allegedly in possession of drugs, paraphernalia and illegal weapons.
Troopers stopped Wallkill resident Anthony Smieszek, 30, at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, on I-84 in Montgomery when he committed a traffic violation.

Two men, one from Westchester County, were arrested and face multiple charges after police allegedly discovered approximately 30 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in Orange County.
Marlon D. Moore, 38, of the Bronx, was driving with passenger Carey R. Nelson, 39, of Mount Vernon when State Police conducted a traffic stop on I-87 in the town of Woodbury around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19.
During the interview with Moore, police established probable cause to conduct a search. Police then discovered approximately 30 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle and took both men into custody.

A 49-year-old man was busted with assault weapons, drugs, and cash after police received complaints of drug dealing in the area.
Emory S. Nesbitt of Poughkeepsie was taken into custody around 4 p.m. Wednesday following a raid by members of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, said Frank Tasciotti, assistant coordinator of the task force.
Tasciotti said the task force received the warrant based on complaints and information regarding drug sales taking place at that location.

A pair was busted with a series of drugs by a state police canine on the Taconic Parkway in the Hudson Valley on Thursday night.
New York State Police troopers conducted a traffic stop on the parkway at approximately 10 p.m. on Thursday night in Clinton, when the driver, Newport, Maine resident Nicholas Norris, 36, committed an undisclosed vehicle and traffic violation.
