Rash Of Car Break-Ins Under Investigation In Dutchess County
Police are investigating following a rash of car break-ins and attempted break-ins in the region. The break-ins occurred in Dutchess County on Thursday, Oct. 24, and Friday, Oct. 25, on the following Poughkeepsie roadways: Main Street S. Hamilton Street Parker Avenue Catharine Street Franklin Street Civic Center Plaza. These incidents are currently under investigation. Poughkeepsie Police remind owners that vehicles should always be locked and secured. Electronics, Cash Stolen From Parked Cars In Hudson Valley Neighborhoods
Authorities are warning residents to lock their cars after electronics and cash were stolen from several vehicles in multiple Hudson Valley neighborhoods. The thefts were reported in Putnam County on Friday morning, June 14, when Carmel Police learned that unlocked vehicles had been entered in the South Lake and North Lake Boulevard neighborhoods in Mahopac. New Survey Reveals Percentage Of NYers Who Fear They'll Be Victims Of Gun Violence
Just days after Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared a “disaster emergency," due to the rise in gun violence, a new survey shows New Yorkers are just as worried. The survey, conducted by SafeWise, polled over 5,000 Americans in their annual State of Safety survey which focuses on crime, their feelings about crime, and their overall feeling of safety and security. Newburgh Police Offer Tips For Preventing Thefts From Vehicles During Crime Uptick
City of Newburgh Police are warning residents of an uptick in the number of thefts from vehicle. The majority of the larcenies are happening overnight and the one trend seems to be that they had not been locked, said Newburgh Police Det. Sgt. Joseph Rutigliano. Alert Issued For Man, Woman Accused Of Stealing From Vehicles In Hyde Park

Police in Hyde Park are asking local residents who may have seen something to alert investigators after a man and woman allegedly broke into several cars and stole items out of local cars in the area of Mansion Drive. Investigators noted that residents should lock their doors at night in an effort to curtail thefts from vehicles.
