20-Year-Old Killed After SUV Goes Airborne, Crashes Into Embankment On I-84 In Danbury
A local man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a busy stretch of I-84.
The crash happened in Fairfield County at around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24.
The vehicle, a 2016 Honda CR-V EX was traveling westbound in the area of Exit 5 in Danbury when it veered to the right off of the roadway, traveled into a grassy area, and became airborne, traveling over the guard rail into an embankment, Connecticut State Police said.
The driver, Jorge Martinez, age 20, of Danbury, was pronounced dead at the scene.

57-Year-Old Woman Wanted In NY For Burglary, Grand Larceny Nabbed In CT
A woman wanted for larceny she allegedly committed on New York was caught in Connecticut, police said.
On Wednesday, Nov. 30, around 6:30 p.m., police in New York and the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office on Long Island notified Connecticut State Police that they held an active arrest warrant for 57-year-old Middlesex County resident Jacqueline Jewett of Westbrook, police said.
Later that day around 7:20 p.m., Jewitt turned herself in to Connecticut State Police and was taken to York Correctional Institute in Niantic, where she is held on a $500,000 bond, according to police.&…
Missing Hudson Valley Woman Found By CT State Police
A missing Hudson Valley woman has been found by the Connecticut State Police.
Putnam County resident Catherine Tully, age 83, of Patterson, was reported missing by Westport Police in Connecticut on Monday, Nov. 14, after her car was tracked at one point to the Weston Road area of the city, said Lt. Jillian Cabana, of the Westport Police.
Family members responded to Westport when Tully failed to return home to New York after she left her around 2 p.m., and was tracked to Westport, Cabana said.

Two Connecticut police officers who were gunned down and killed when responding to an apparent domestic dispute may have been lured to the home by a fake 911 call.
Bristol Police Sgt. Dustin DeMonte, age 35, and Officer Alex Hamzy, age 34, both young fathers, were killed and 26-year-old Alec Iurato was injured, around 10:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12 in a residential neighborhood in Bristol, said the Connecticut State Police.
