Man Wanted On Murder Warrant Nabbed In Orange County
A man wanted on a warrant for murder was nabbed at a City of Newburgh apartment after running inside the occupied dwelling. The incident began around 9:50 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, when the City of Newburgh Police received a call that a man had taken a gun from a vehicle and ran inside an apartment at the Mullins Apartment complex on Walsh Road, said City of Newburgh Police Lt. Student Charged With Assaulting Teacher At Newburgh Free Academy
A 17-year-old was arrested for allegedly attacking a teacher at the Newburgh Free Academy. Terrance Melvin, of Newburgh, was arrested following the incident that took place around 2 p.m. Thursday at the school located at 201 Fullerton Ave, according to City of Newburgh Police Det. Lt. Joseph Burns. The school's Community Resource Officer said the attack took place inside of a cafeteria and caused injuries requiring the teacher to be transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment, Burns said. Hero Police Officers Save Residents From Three-Alarm Fire In Newburgh
City of Newburgh police officers braved smoke and flames to save several residents inside a home early Wednesday as flames spread throughout the residence. The call for the fire came in around 3:47 a.m. Wednesday at 746 Broadway, said City of Newburgh Police Det. Lt. Joseph Burns. Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Newburgh Robbery Suspect
Complaints from residents about drug dealing in the area of a daycare center led to the arrest of two men for drugs, one who was wanted for an armed robbery. The arrests took place on Thursday when City of Newburgh Police detectives were in the area of 41 City Terrace in response to numerous complaints of open-air drug dealing and narcotics usage in front of the state-certified daycare center, said Newburgh Police. A motorcyclist driving on the wrong side of the road was killed after striking a vehicle head-on Tuesday night in the Hudson Valley, police announced Wednesday morning.
