Unlicensed Spa Shut Down In Hudson Valley After Operating Without Permits: Police
An unlicensed spa in the Hudson Valley was shut down when authorities discovered it had been operating without the proper permits, police said. The Putnam County business, located in downtown Mahopac, was shut down on Thursday, Feb. 16 following numerous complaints from residents, Carmel Police announced. After receiving these complaints, the Carmel Building Department began investigating the spa and determined it violated the Town Code, as it had not obtained the proper certificate of occupancy, according to authorities. 2 Rushed To Westchester Medical Center After Vehicle Crashes Into Market
Two people were taken to a Westchester hospital after a car slammed into a store in the Hudson Valley, pinning one person inside. On Sunday, Oct. 30, around 12:30 p.m. in Putnam County, police and first responders responded to the Red Mills Market in Mahopac Falls at 575 NY-6N after a vehicle was reported to have crashed into the store, trapping one person inside and the driver, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Photos: Oil Spill Reaches Lake Mahopac
More than 200 gallons of oil flowed down a hill, spilled into Lake Mahopac and had to be cleaned up by first responders. The oil spill was reported on Mount Hope Road in Mahopac at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, prompting a heavy response by multiple emergency agencies.
