These Area Towns Rank Highest Upstate For Longest Commutes Some area residents have among the longest commutes in the state, according to a newly released report. Using data from the U.S. Census, NewYorkUpstate.com compiled the municipalities with the most “super commuters,” a number which has risen 31.7 percent since 2005. Day 4: Latest Update On Central Hudson Power Restoration In Dutchess Nearly 85 percent of the 74,000 customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation impacted by Tuesday’s damaging storm have had power restored, following a restoration effort to clear trees, open roadways and repair the electric system.  Approximately 13,000 outages remain in nearly 400 individual damage locations, primarily in heavily impacted areas of southern Dutchess and northeast Orange counties, where excessive tree damage remains a concern.
