A former high school basketball standout from the Hudson Valley is taking his talents to Washington, D.C.
Mount Vernon native Marlon Taylor, a rookie in the NBA who went undrafted, has signed an Exhibit 10 contact with the Washington Wizards after starring for two years in college at LSU, where he won an SEC Championship.
Taylor joins a team that features Russell Westbrook, Robin Lopez, Shabazz Napier, and Bradley Beal, among other NBA playmakers.

Syracuse University has pressed pause on getting ready for the upcoming men's basketball season after legendary coach Jim Boeheim tested positive for COVID-19.
The school announced on Sunday, Nov. 15 that Boeheim, 75, had a positive case confirmed, though he has yet to experience any symptoms and has already entered quarantine.

Westchester native Craig Carton is back in the WFAN booth more than three years after he was last on the air following a conviction for operating a Ponzi scheme.
Carton, who grew up in New Rochelle, was ordered to spend 42 months in prison last April, three years of supervised release, ordered to pay $4,835,186.56 in restitution, and to forfeit $4,590,000 for running a Ponzi scheme that purportedly covered his gambling debts.

Covid-19: 'Lower Risk' NY HS Sports Can Practice, Play Within Region Only, Cuomo Announces
New York high school sports deemed as “low risk” have been given the green light to begin play next month, though higher-risk sports with full physical contact may only continue to practice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During a COVID-19 briefing on Monday, Aug. 24, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that lower-risk sports such as tennis, soccer, cross country, field hockey, and swimming in all regions may continue to practice and start play beginning on Monday, Sept. 21.
