Red Hook Man Jumps To His Death From Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge

A local man in his 30's jumped to his death from the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.

The incident took place around 11:15 a.m. Friday, when a witness alerted the Sheriff's Office about the suicide, said Capt. John Watterson.

The unidentified man from Red Hook landed on the solid land area below the bridge on the Dutchess County side of the bridge, Watterson said.

An investigation is underway, but it appears to be a suicide, he added.
