State police said 56 of the tickets were for violation of child safety restraint laws.
In separate details held last weekend at the FDR State Park entrance Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16.A total of 132 tickets were issued
In the July 16 detail, held between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., a total of 67 tickets were issued for these violations, 48 for child restraint, seven for seatbelts and 12 for other vehicle and traffic offenses.
A total of 65 tickets were issued on Saturday in another checkpoint at FDR Park,
Sixty of the tickets issued during the six-hour detail were for child restraint violations.
The details were held to help educate the public on the importance of properly securing children within the vehicle, state police said.
"These details will continue in an effort to keep the roadways safe for the motoring public and their child passengers," state police said in a statement.
