McCardle-Rausenberger, 39 appeared in front of Dutchess County Court Judge Edward McLoughlin for sentencing on charges of felony second-degree grand larceny, said Dutchess County Assistant District Attorney Andrea Long.
Her husband, Scott Rausenberger, 37, is serving one-year supervised probation, Long said. His case will be reviewed again next year to see if he has followed his probation, she added.
McCardle-Rausenberger was also ordered to pay $66,989.89 in restitution, which she has already done, Long said.
"I believe justice was served in this case with the sentence received," Long said.
The couple was arrested after school officials discovered McCardle-Rausenberger had taken more than $50,000 in sports equipment and other items over a seven-year period to use at Scott Rausenberger's business, “Go Fast Get Fit."
According to a January indictment, between July 2009 and August 2016, the couple stole sporting and athletic equipment, along with items such as office supplies.
The stolen property was discovered in their home and a detached garage when police executed a search warrant. Some of the items taken included NormaTec exercise systems, Garmin devices, and energy supplements.
McArdle-Rausenberger had been employed as the full-time director of athletics, health and physical education for the district since 2004. She resigned from her position in March after pleading guilty.
