Sister Marion McGillicuddy, 90, Former Fishkill Resident

RHINEBECK, N.Y. – Sister Marion McGillicuddy, formerly of Rhinebeck, died Sunday, March 6, in Wilmington, N.C. She was 90.

Born Marion Frances Clare McGillicuddy in New York City on March 24, 1925, to the late Jeremiah and Nora O'Sullivan McGillicuddy, she entered the Society of St. Ursula on Sept. 13, 1942, and made permanent vows on Dec. 29, 1949. She taught in New York City; Kingston; Providence, R.I.; Milwaukee; Fishkill; and Rome, Italy, and did parish ministry in Wallace and Wilmington, N.C. Most recently, she worked with the Hispanic community at St. Mary, Wilmington, and was very involved with the Ladies' Ancient Order of Hibernians there.

Her sister Frances (Reilly), of California, and her sisters in community survive her.

She was predeceased by her brother, Jerome, and her sister, Kathleen.

A Mass of Resurrection will take place Friday, March 18, at 11 a.m. at the Linwood Spiritual Center, 50 Linwood Road, Rhinebeck. Visiting hour will be prior to the mass on Friday from 10-11 a.m. Interment will take place Friday at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston, following a luncheon at the Linwood Spiritual Center.
