A 45-year-old woman will spend several years in prison after causing a fatal crash in the Hudson Valley while driving at twice the legal limit on her way from a bar in the region. Oklahoma resident Nicholle Hoke of Shawnee, age 45, was sentenced on Tuesday, July 23 to four to 12 years in prison in connection with a June 2023 crash in Newburgh that killed one person, Orange County District Attorney David M. A 25-year-old woman from the region has gone missing, and authorities are asking the public's help in locating her. New York State Police issued an alert on Tuesday, July 23, following the disappearance of Dutchess County resident Maria Ortiz, of Poughkeepsie. The incident happened on Long Island at MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma around 6:15 p.m. Monday, July 22. Woman Injured In Stabbing Attack In Capital Region
A woman is recovering after she was repeatedly stabbed on a residential street in the region. The attack happened in Albany’s Arbor Hill neighborhood, on North Pearl Street near Wilson Street, at around 5:40 p.m. Monday, July 22. Albany Police said officers arrived to find a 46-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds to her arm and leg. She was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital where she remains in stable condition. Three people were killed in a head-on highway crash in the region. The Greene County wreck happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20, on Route 23 in the town of Windham.
