67-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed In Hudson Valley Crash On Route 376 A 67-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 376 in the Town of Wappinger, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office announced. Capt. John Watterson of the Sheriff's Office said it is investigating the fatal car-pedestrian crash that occurred on Thursday, Dec. 21, around 5:30 p.m. on Route 376 near Hackensack Heights Road in Wappinger. Deputies responded to reports of a collision and found that the pedestrian, a 67-year-old man, had sustained life-threatening injuries, Watterson said. 16-Year-Old Boy Critical After Being Hit By Car In Region: State Police A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after being hit by a car while walking along a Hudson Valley roadway. New York State Police said the incident occurred around 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, on Route 105 in Monroe. According to state police, Shlome Bernbluth, of Monroe, was walking on the south shoulder of the roadway when he was struck by a 2021 Toyota driven by a 27-year-old Monroe man traveling eastbound when he failed to maintain his lane. Bernbluth was transported to Westchester Medical Center with severe head injuries and is listed in critical condition, state police said.&n…

Boy Killed After Being Struck By Truck In Hudson Valley A 14-year-old boy was hit and killed by a truck after he allegedly rode in front of it. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, on Vassar Road in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Ralph Cropley, at the time of the crash, a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck was being driven by a 60-year-old resident of the town of Poughkeepsie in a southerly direction on Vassar Road. Semi-Truck Knocks Down Live Wires, Catches On Fire In Hudson Valley Part of a busy Hudson Valley road was briefly closed to traffic after a semi-truck collided with a utility pole, causing a blaze sparked by live wires.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, July 9 around 1 p.m., when a semi-truck hit a utility pole on Farmers Mills Road (Route 42) in Kent, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department.  Arriving police and fire crews found that active live wires had sparked a fire that reached the truck.
