Man Accused Of Capital Region Shooting That Left Teen Wounded, Struggling To Walk
A 33-year-old Capital Region man faces multiple felonies in a shooting following an argument earlier this summer that left a teenager struggling to walk, authorities said. Maurice Steward, of Albany, was charged with second-degree attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon last week in the July 9 shooting, the Albany County District Attorney's Office said on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Woman Accused Of Stealing Dog In Region
A 46-year-old woman from the region was arrested this week after police said she and another woman stole two dogs from a home earlier this month. Shalon Jones, of Albany, is charged with criminal possession of stolen property and hindering prosecution, Albany police said. She was remanded to the Albany County jail, authorities continued. Two French bulldogs were reported stolen from a home in the 200 block of Myrtle Avenue on Aug. 4. Police said Jones had one of them — a 1-year-old named Anya. 6 Teens Injured In July 4th Shooting At Capital Region Home
Six teenagers are recovering after a shooting at a Fourth of July party in the region. Police in Albany were called about a shooting in the city’s Pine Hills neighborhood, on Myrtle Avenue near Quail Street, at around 12:15 a.m. Friday, July 5. When officers arrived, they found evidence of gunfire in the home’s backyard and in the street that occurred during a large gathering, police said.
