Crash Temporarily Closes Stretch Of Roadway In Region A crash that left a vehicle on its side in the Hudson Valley caused a brief road closure.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, Sept. 3 around 12:50 p.m., when a vehicle flipped on Myrtle Avenue in Mahopac, eventually coming to a rest next to a pole, according to Carmel Police. The crash caused Myrtle Avenue to close between Carmine Drive and Potter Road for around 20 minutes as crews worked to clear the scene.  The roadway reopened around 1:10 p.m. The cause of the crash was not released.

Update: Drunk Man Apprehended While Trying To Break Into Hudson Valley Home, Police Say This story has been updated.  A 38-year-old man was apprehended after allegedly trying to break into a home in a residential neighborhood in the Hudson Valley, police said.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Thursday, July 11 around 2:20 p.m., when a domestic disturbance was reported at a home on Orchard Road in the Lake Secor neighborhood of Carmel, according to Carmel Police Lt. Northern Westchester Man Nabbed For Burglary After Returning To Crime Scene, Police Say A Northern Westchester man was hit with a felony burglary charge after allegedly stealing a vehicle and breaking into a Hudson Valley home before returning to the crime scene while police were canvassing the area, authorities said.  The burglary happened in Putnam County on Saturday, June 8, when a Mahopac resident told officers that a man had been seen on his Ring camera trying to break into his home, according to Carmel Police.  Authorities soon responded to the home and found a broken window where the suspect had been able to get inside.  Officers then searched the reside…

Targeted 4-Hour Detail Results In 23 Traffic Stops At Busy Hudson Valley Shopping Center Following complaints from residents and business owners, a targeted police detail at a busy Hudson Valley shopping center resulted in 23 traffic summonses over only four hours.  The enforcement campaign was conducted in Putnam County on Friday evening, May 17 at the Mahopac Village Center shopping center.
