A shooting investigation turned into a hostage situation when a suspect allegedly fled a police raid, forced his way into a nearby home, and trapped a woman and three children inside, Albany police announced on Thursday, June 11.
Jahmel Inman, 32, of Albany, was arrested on Wednesday, June 10, following an investigation by members of the Albany Police Department's Criminal Investigation Unit.

Joshua Hunter, 47, was found guilty of third-degree assault and seven counts of child endangerment, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.

Three prisoners were killed in New York State prisons within five days last week, state police said Monday, April 13.
All three men were killed in altercations with other prisoners, according to New York State Police. Additional charges against the three suspects are pending.
