Woman Stabs Victim In Chest During Fight At Capital Region Home, Police Say

A fight ended with a knife being plunged into a victim’s chest in the Capital Region, police said.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Malta residence on Sunset Gulch for a fight in progress shortly after midnight Wednesday, Feb. 19.

They found a victim suffering from a stab wound to the chest, sheriff’s officials said. The victim was taken by ambulance to Albany Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition.

Investigators determined that Margaret Zuk, 57, of Malta, intentionally stabbed the victim during a fight, deputies said. She was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.

Sheriff’s officials did not say how Zuk and the alleged victim knew each other, or speculate on a possible motive for the attack.
