A woman is recovering after she was stabbed during a robbery in the region. Albany Police were called at around 7:45 p.m. Friday, June 14, for a robbery near Washington and Lexington avenues. Officers found a 22-year-old woman suffering from a stab wound to her back. She was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Man Lying In Roadway Struck, Killed By Car In Capital Region
A 64-year-old man was struck and killed by a car in the region while lying in the roadway. The incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, in Albany’s Pine Hills neighborhood. Albany Police said the victim was lying in the roadway on Washington Avenue near Quail Street when he was hit by a vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 22-year-old suspect is behind bars following a violent robbery in the region that sent a man to the hospital. The attack happened shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, in Albany, outside the Salvation Army building on Clinton Avenue. Woman Busted Driving Stolen Car While Drunk In Capital Region, Police Say
A 44-year-old woman from the region is facing charges after police allegedly caught her driving a stolen car while intoxicated. Troopers stopped Kelly Golden, of Albany, at around 10:40 p.m. Monday, May 29, for an alleged vehicle and traffic law violation on Washington Avenue in Albany. During their interaction, troopers determined that Golden was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her, according to State Police. The search is on for an 11-year-old boy who was reported missing in the Capital Region. Kulanji Moore was last seen in Albany at around 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, near North Main Avenue and Washington Avenue, according to Albany Police. The boy is described as Black, standing 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Construction Worker Barred From Capital District High School Over Confederate Flag
A construction worker has been barred from a Capital District school after twice showing up to campus in a vehicle donning a Confederate flag. Students and staff first noticed the vehicle parked at Albany High School Monday, May 16, and alerted administrators, according to the Albany City School District. Police have arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing an up-and-coming chef in the Capital District. Marquis Jackson, age 34, of Albany, was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, Albany Police said. Investigators believe Jackson stabbed 31-year-old Tyrome Wallace multiple times during an altercation inside a home on Washington Avenue Monday night, May 16. A man has died following a stabbing attack in the Capital District. Police were called to an Albany home on Washington Avenue near Partridge Street just after 10 p.m. Monday, May 16, with reports of a stabbing.
