Know Him? Man Wanted For Armed Gas Station Robbery In Region Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly robbed a gas station  in the region at gunpoint. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 11:25 p.m., Monday, Oct. 21, at the Valero Gas Station on Violet Avenue in Hyde Park. According to Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson, an investigation found that a Black man entered the store, displayed what appeared to be a black gun, and demanded money. Person Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle On Roadway In Region A man was hit and killed by a Jeep as he crossed a busy roadway in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, on Violet Avenue in Hyde Park. According to Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson, Lawrence Williams, age 76, of Hyde Park, was crossing Violet Avenue from the Sunoco Gas Station to his residence at the Hyde Park Assisted Living when he was struck by a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 41-year-old Hude Park woman. Fentanyl-Cocaine Dealers Nabbed In Region, Police Say Two alleged drug dealers were nabbed with fentanyl, cocaine, and a weapon following an investigation into narcotics sales in the area. The arrests occurred in Dutchess County on Thursday, Sept. 12, at a residence on Violet Avenue in Hyde Park. The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force investigated narcotics sales after receiving numerous complaints regarding drug activity around the residence, said Det. Sgt. Miami-Bound Fentanyl Dealer Nabbed In Hudson Valley, Cops Say An alleged fentanyl dealer in the region who was headed to Miami, Florida was nabbed by drug task agents before he could leave. Dutchess County resident Jose J. Cruz, age 22, of Beacon, was arrested early Monday, March 25 in Hyde Park by members of the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force. According to Det. Sgt. Adam Harris of the Task Force, Cruz had been under investigation for the sale of fentanyl and other drugs in Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, and the surrounding areas. Hudson Valley Man Nabbed With Defaced Semi-Auto Pistol, Police Say A Hudson Valley man has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon found during a traffic stop. Dutchess County resident Davis A. Weir. age 33, of Hyde Park, was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 13 around 6:30 p.m., in the area of Violet Avenue and Yates Avenue in Hyde Park.  According to Hyde Park Police Robert Benson, when officers stopped Weir for speeding they could see a handgun on the driver's side floorboard.
