Fatal Crash: Woman ID'd As Victim After Car Hits Barrier In Region A man sustained serious injuries, and his passenger died after a single-car crash in the region. It happened in Dutchess County around 7:10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, in Pleasant Valley.  New York State Police said a 55-year-old Poughkeepsie man was driving a 2006 Honda sedan eastbound on Sherow Road when he failed to stop at the intersection with North Avenue.  The vehicle crossed both lanes of North Avenue, ultimately hitting a barrier on the east shoulder, said police. Man Found Drowning In Hudson Valley Lake Dies At Hospital A man died after he was found unresponsive in waters near a Hudson Valley beach, police announced.  The incident leading to the man's death began in Putnam County on Tuesday, July 16 around 1:45 p.m., when a possible drowning incident was reported at Canopus Lake Beach in Fahnestock State Park off Route 301 in Kent.  According to Kent Police, arriving first responders and police helped park staff and lifeguards perform CPR on an 82-year-old man who was found unresponsive in waters near the beach.  A LifeNet helicopter then responded and airlifted the man to Vassar Brothers M…

The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 11:45 a.m., Saturday, June 8, in the city of Poughkeepsie. According to the city of Poughkeepsie Police, officers responded to the area of Main Street and N White Street to a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located numerous spent shell casings but no victims. This Westchester County Hospital Receives 'A' Grade For Patient Safety, Report Says One hospital in the Hudson Valley is at the top of its class for keeping patients safe, according to a new report.  Westchester County's White Plains Hospital, located at 41 East Post Rd, has been assigned an "A" grade for patient safety in a new Fall 2022 report by the Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog organization that advocates for safety in hospitals.  The report gives letter grades to nearly 3,000 hospitals across the country based on how well they protect patients from preventable medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, according to the gr…
