Hudson Valley Restaurant License Suspended For Selling To Underage Drinkers, Authorities Say
The license of a popular restaurant in the region has been suspended for allegedly selling alcohol to minors. Ulster County's P&G Restaurant at 91 Main St., in New Paltz license was suspended on Thursday, March 31 by the State Liquor Authority (SLA) following a visit on Friday, March 15. During the visit, investigators from the SLA, New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office conducted a compliance inspection following numerous complaints of underage drinking. A man is facing charges in connection with a 16-year-old’s alleged drunken joyride with nine other teens in the region. The incident happened Sunday, July 23, in Columbia County, on Route 20 in the town of New Lebanon, according to New York State Police. With the opening kickoff of Super Bowl LVII just minutes away, New York State Police say that troopers are out cracking down on impaired and reckless driving. Workers at four businesses have been charged with illegally selling alcoholic beverages to minors during a New York State Police detail in Northern Westchester and Putnam. During the initiative conducted on Saturday, Feb. 4, a total of 17 retail establishments were checked for compliance utilizing a trooper in plain clothes and an underage operative utilizing a valid NY driver’s license. Hundreds of people are facing charges following an investigation into underage drinking and fake ID usage at concert venues across New York. More than 550 people received tickets during a New York State Department of Motor Vehicles probe known as Operation Prevent, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office.
