Traffic Alert: Lane Reductions Expected Along I-84 In Hudson Valley Commuters should note that a section of I-84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. The New York State Department of Transportation is advising Dutchess County motorists that I-84 between Exit 44 (Route 52) in the Town of Fishkill and Exit 46 (Route 9) in the Town of East Fishkill, Mondays through Saturdays, beginning Monday, Aug. 12, through Monday, Sept. 30, between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For up-to-date travel information, call 511, or visit www.511NY.org.

Woman Attempting To Cross Hudson Valley Roadway Struck, Killed By Vehicle, Police Say A woman was killed while attempting to cross a roadway in the region, according to authorities. The incident happened around 6:35 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14 in Dutchess County on Route 9 at Clove Road in the Town of Fishkill. Responding officers located an unconscious woman in the roadway with serious injuries, Town of Fishkill said.  A preliminary investigation suggests the injured woman was crossing Route 9 in an easterly direction on an unlit part of the roadway when a vehicle traveling southbound operated by a 23-year-old Poughkeepsie woman struck the pedestrian…

Expect Delays: Separate Daytime Lane Closures Scheduled On I-84 Stretch Be ready for possible traffic delays through southwest Dutchess County in the coming days. Scheduled road work on Interstate 84 near the Town of Fishkill will have one lane closed in either direction near Fishkill Creek, according to the Department of Transportation. Five Nabbed For Prostitution After Detail At Hotel In Hudson Valley Five people have been arrested following a prostitution bust at a hotel in the region. All five suspects were apprehended in Dutchess County Wednesday, April 27, in the Town of Fishkill after local and state police targeted prostitution and other illegal activity at the Extended Stay America on West Merritt Boulevard, Fishkill Police said. In addition to the prostitution charges, some were also busted for criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. Police did not release the names of those charged.
