Bridge Jumper Identified As 34-Year-Old From Region This story has been updated. The person who jumped from the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge has been identified as a Hudson Valley man. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on the Beacon side of the bridge at around 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. According to the City of Poughkeepsie Police, the troubled man had climbed over the rail of the bridge and was threatening to jump.
