Missing Woman Found Dead At Bottom Of Cliff In Region
A missing woman who had not been seen in a day was located by a New York State Police drone at the bottom of a Hudson Valley cliff. The incident occurred in Orange County around 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 27, at the Hawk's Nest in Sparrow Bush. According to State Police Trooper Steven Nevel, the 41-year-old New York City woman from Brooklyn, had been reported missing to the New York City Police on Thursday, Sept. 26. Bridge Jumper Identified As 34-Year-Old From Region
This story has been updated. The person who jumped from the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge has been identified as a Hudson Valley man. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on the Beacon side of the bridge at around 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, an investigation determined a passerby observed the victim, later identified as Ryan Franolich, age 34, jumping from the bridge and reporting it to the Bridge Authority. A man threatening to jump from a bridge in the region was saved by a police officer. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at the Mid-Hudson Bridge in Poughkeepsie around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. A bill aimed at stopping suicides by adding preventive fencing to five Hudson Valley bridges has passed the New York State Senate unanimously. Now, the bill introduced by State Sen.
