A 15-year-old student is facing charges after allegedly bringing a gun to a school in the region. Albany Police were called just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, for a person with a weapon at Green Tech High Charter School, located on Slingerland Street. 'Concerning' Interactions Between Person, Students At Hudson Valley HS Being Investigated
School officials in the Hudson Valley are warning of "concerning" interactions between an individual and students off-campus of a high school. The "incidents" have been taking place in Dutchess County outside of John Jay High School in East Fishkill, said Dr. Dwight Bonk, the superintendent of the Wappingers Central School District. Teacher Injured During Fight At High School In Hudson Valley
A teacher was injured during a fight between two students at a school in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Orange County on Monday, March 6 at Middletown High School. The fight took place in a hallway outside a classroom. The mother of a high school student in the region has been arrested for allegedly sneaking into the school dressed as a student so she could watch her daughter fight with another student. A Capital Region high school implemented lockout procedures Friday morning, Nov. 4, over a reported security concern. Albany High School, located near Washington and Main avenues, went into lockout at around 10:20 a.m. due to a report of a person with a knife outside of the building, the school announced in a Facebook post to parents. A 14-year-old is facing felony charges after allegedly threatening to bomb a high school in the Capital Region. State police in Schoharie County were called to Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, located on Highway 7 in Richmondville, just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7. Troopers were informed of multiple social media posts by a student threatening to bomb the school, police said. Two Hudson Valley schools will be open on Friday, Sept. 16, despite an online threat. The threat originated in Orange County circulating among students via Apple Airdrop at Middletown High School, said Amy Creeden, superintendent of the district of Middletown.
