Traffic Alert: Lane Reductions Expected Along I-84 In Hudson Valley Commuters should note that a section of I-84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. The New York State Department of Transportation is advising Dutchess County motorists that I-84 between Exit 44 (Route 52) in the Town of Fishkill and Exit 46 (Route 9) in the Town of East Fishkill, Mondays through Saturdays, beginning Monday, Aug. 12, through Monday, Sept. 30, between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For up-to-date travel information, call 511, or visit www.511NY.org.

Man Dead Following Shooting At Capital Region Home A man is dead following a shooting at a home in the region. The Saratoga County incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, in Malta at the Northway Estates mobile home park on Route 9. Sheriff’s deputies said someone called 911 reporting a shooting inside a residence. When deputies arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound. Nobody else inside the home was injured. Authorities did not speculate on a possible motive for the shooting or say whether anyone was arrested. The victim's name and age had not been released as of Friday afternoon. Person Hospitalized After Hitting Deer On Busy Road In Northern Westchester A serious crash involving a deer resulted in both a person being hospitalized and the brief closure of a busy Northern Westchester road.  The incident happened on Thursday, Nov. 23 around 8:30 p.m., when a car struck a deer on the Croton Point overpass on southbound Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  One person was then taken to a local hospital by Croton EMS and the Ossining Paramedic Fly-Car.  After the crash, responding crews briefly shut the road down until the vehicle and deer were removed.  Correction: The person invo…
