Students' Cell Phones Will Be Locked Up At This Middle School In Region A funny thing happened at a Hudson Valley high school last year when students were required to lock up their cell phones during the day—it worked, and now the middle school is joining the club.  Poughkeepsie Schools Superintendent Dr. Eric Rosser said the Yondr pouch program was launched in Dutchess County at Poughkeepsie High School in April.  Rosser wrote in his school newsletter that the program has changed its culture and improved attendance and engagement since its inception. Suspect On Run After 2 Teens Shot In Neck Near Hudson Valley High School, Police Say Police are searching for a suspect after two teens were shot in the neck near a high school in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, close to Poughkeepsie High School in the area of Fox Terrace and South White Street in Poughkeepsie. According to Det. Lt. Matt Clark of the Poughkeepsie Police officers responded to numerous calls of shots fired. Responding officers found one 17-year-old boy shot in the neck and "bleeding profusely." Clark said officers rendered first aid to the victim until EMS arrived and transported him to a local hospital.…

Hudson Valley Fentanyl Dealer Selling Within Feet Of HS Nabbed During Raid, Police Say A Hudson Valley alleged drug dealer has been arrested for selling fentanyl within steps of a high school. Dutchess County resident Maurice Bogle, age 38, of the City of Poughkeepsie, was charged on Thursday, Nov. 2 during an early-morning raid.  According to Det. Sgt. Adam Harris of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, Bogle was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal sale of a controlled substance. High School Student In Hudson Valley Injured In Shooting Police are investigating a shooting that injured a high school student in the Hudson Valley.
