11 Students Sent To Hospital Following 4-Vehicle Crash Involving School Bus In Hudson Valley A four-vehicle crash involving a school bus on Route 9 in the Hudson Valley sent 11 students and several drivers to the hospital. The incident occurred at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 4699 Post Road in Hyde Park. According to Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson, a preliminary investigation revealed that the collision involved a 2023 Honda Accord and a 2020 Hyundai traveling southbound on Route 9.  At the same time, Benson said a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup was traveling southbound when the driver became distracted by something inside his vehicle. Going Once: Hotel In Region To Be Sold At Auction After several years of being operated by a management company, a popular, well-appointed hotel in the region is being auctioned next month. According to Ten-X, the 121-room Holiday Inn Express in Dutchess County on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie will be auctioned on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The company-owned property was originally put up for sale in 2020, but it was pulled due to the pandemic and market plunges.  Ten-X says the property is offered unencumbered by management and debt. Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Northern Westchester Roadway Smoke was seen on a busy main route in Northern Westchester when a vehicle went up in flames.  The incident happened on Saturday, May 11 around 1:40 p.m., when a car caught on fire on Route 9 southbound in Croton-on-Hudson just south of the pedestrian bridge.  According to the village's fire department, the blaze began in the vehicle's engine compartment and was quickly put out. The car was removed from the road after around an hour. No injuries were reported.

15-Year-Old Busted With Gun, Cocaine In Capital Region, Police Say A 15-year-old boy is facing charges after he was allegedly caught with a loaded gun and cocaine in the region.  Albany Police were called at around 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, for a person with a weapon near Central and Lexington avenues. When officers arrived, they confronted a teen matching the suspect’s description, but he took off running. He made it roughly three blocks away before he was arrested near Orange Street and Route 9. The upstate New York incident happened Thursday evening, Aug. 31, in Warren County, on Route 9 in Lake George, according to state police. The crash took place in Dutchess County around 2:45 p.m., on Monday, March 20 on Route 9 in front of the Cornucopia Deli in Red Hook. An investigation revealed that a 2002 Jeep being operated by a 16-year-old girl from Milan was northbound on Route 9. A 2001 Chevrolet being driven by an 83-year-old Red Hook woman attempted to exit the Cornucopia Deli parking lot failing to yield to the Jeep resulting in a head-on collision, Red Hook Police said. Capital District Couple Tied Dog To Tree In Woods, Abandoned Him, Police Say A couple from the Capital District has been criminally charged after police said they tied their one-year-old dog to a tree in the woods and then abandoned him. Saratoga County residents Noah Center, age 24, and Ashleigh Allen, age 22, both of Corinth, were arrested Thursday, July 14, on multiple charges stemming from the incident. According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Center and Allen left the Heeler mix, named Quade, tied up in a wooded area off Route 9 in Corinth, where he remained for at least two days.
