Jail Inmate In Capital District Busted With ‘Large Amount' Of Drugs, Police Say A man from the Capital District who was already behind bars is facing additional charges after he was allegedly caught with drugs. Rensselaer County jail inmate Tyrone Harris, age 32, of Troy, was arrested following an investigation by a correctional officer on Thursday, Aug. 18, sheriff’s officials said. Officers said they found Harris in possession of a “large amount of narcotics.” Harris, who was being housed at the facility on unrelated charges and a parole revocation, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of prison contraband. One Hospitalized After Assault At Grocery Store In Hudson Valley One person was seriously wounded after being stabbed during a dispute in front of a Hudson Valley grocery store. The incident took place in Dutchess County in the City of Poughkeepsie around 1:10 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, Police responded to the Market Fresh store at 534 Main St., after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a fight, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark, of the city of Poughkeepsie Police. Responding officers found a 28-year-old man with stab wounds to his abdomen, Clark said. 18 Arrested In Drug Trafficking Bust In Region A nearly month-long investigation into drug trafficking along Albany’s Central Avenue corridor has resulted in 18 arrests. The individuals were nabbed during a joint operation between Albany Police and US Marshals Service nicknamed “Operation Turnbuckle” that began in March.
