New York Congressman and former candidate for governor Lee Zeldin will not run for chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), but says it’s clear the party needs new leadership. President Joe Biden is expected to visit New York ahead of the midterm elections, Bloomberg reports. Biden will be in the Empire State Thursday, Oct. 6, and will attend a jobs event hosted by IBM at the company’s Dutchess County campus in Poughkeepsie, the outlet reports. Democrats received a major confidence boost heading into the November midterms after Pat Ryan won a special election for New York's open 19th House seat in a race that's considered a national bellwether.
