Victims ID'd After Double-Fatal Wrong-Way Driver Crash In Region Two men were killed during a wrong-way driver crash on the Taconic State Parkway in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 2:40 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, in LaGrange. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, an initial investigation determined Joseph W. LaFave, age 35, of LaGrange, driving a 2017 BMW X1, traveled north in the southbound lane on the Taconic State Parkway in the area of Todd Hill Road.  Hicks said LaFave struck a 2017 Lincoln Navigator head-on in the left southbound lane. Fatal Crash: Teen Falls Asleep Driving In Hudson Valley, Hits Car Head-On, Police Say A 54-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash after the other driver allegedly fell asleep and crossed into his lane of travel. The incident took place in Dutchess County in LaGrange around 3:40 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15 on Route 55. An investigation determined a 17-year-old driving a 2015 Honda CRV eastbound fell asleep and entered the westbound lane striking a 2021 Kia Sorrento driven by Suffolk County resident Gabriel T. Woman Killed After Being Struck By Car On Hudson Valley Roadway A woman from the area was killed after being struck by a car on a Hudson Valley roadway. The incident took place in the town of LaGrange around 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24 on Route 55/Freedom Plains Road. According to Trooper AJ Hicks, Carol A. Murray, age 61, of LaGrange, entered Freedom Plains Road east of Commerce Street for unknown reasons and was struck by a 2018 Nissan Sentra.   A good Samaritan stopped and administered life-saving techniques until troopers and the Lagrange Fire Department arrived and took over, Hicks said.
