Man From Region Killed When Juvenile Backing Vehicle Into Driveway Runs Over Him, Police Say This story has been updated. A Hudson Valley man was killed when a juvenile backing an SUV into a driveway accelerated and hit the victim. The incident occurred in Orange County at 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the village of Kiryas Joel in the town of Monroe. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 13-year-old was backing a 2024 Honda Odyssey into the driveway of a residence. 5 Nabbed On Gun Charges In Region During Traffic Stop, Police Say Five residents in the region, including three juveniles, were nabbed on alleged gun charges during a routine traffic stop.  The incident occurred in Orange County around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, on I-84 in Deerpark. According to New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel, troopers initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Orange County resident Jaykris Vargas, age 23, of Middletown. Fatal Shooting: 15-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Capital Region Police in the Capital Region have identified a 15-year-old boy who was shot and killed. The incident happened in Schenectady around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in the 1100 block of Congress Street. According to the Schenectady Police, officers found a large crowd running from the area when they arrived.  They located Dubar T. Knowles, of Schenectady, in the backyard of 1122 Congress St., suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. Knowles later died from his injuries, police said. A 13-year-old girl from Schenectady was also shot and is currently recovering from surgery…

Juvenile From Region Nabbed For Making 'Non-Specific' School Threat, Police Say A juvenile was charged with allegedly making a threat of mass harm after the FBI alerted the New York State Police of a school threat made in the region on TikTok. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Wappinger. Trooper AJ Hicks said an investigation determined the "non-specific threat originated from the town of Wappinger.  Investigators located and arrested the minor soon after, Hicks said. Juvenile Shot At Capital Region Park; Search On For Suspect A juvenile is recovering after being shot at a park in the region. The attack happened at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Schenectady’s Jerry Burrell Park, near Schenectady and Hamilton streets. According to police, officers found the victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. They were taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Minor Injured By Fall Caused By Seizure At Northern Westchester American Legion Hall: Police A police department came to the aid of a minor who suffered a fall likely caused by a seizure at a Northern Westchester American Legion Hall, authorities said.  On Saturday, Nov. 12, around 4:30 p.m., several adults brought an injured juvenile into North Castle Police headquarters after they suffered a fall at the American Legion House in Armonk at 35 Bedford Rd., according to North Castle Police.  The adults accompanying the injured minor told police that they had a history of seizures, which likely caused the fall, authorities said.
