Fence Builder Ghosts Several Capital Region Homeowners After Taking Thousands, Police Say
The owner of a fence building company is accused of taking thousands of dollars from area homeowners for jobs that were never completed.
Schenectady County resident James Butler, age 30, of Glenville, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 23 on a felony charge of grand larceny.
Glenville Police said Butler, who owns and operates “Trust a Fence,” accepted over $7,000 from a Glenville homeowner to purchase fencing material. However, the job was never finished.

Employee Steals Over $9,000 From Capital Region Business, Police Say
An employee is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a business in the region.
Albany County resident Nicole Lynch, age 36, of Guilderland, was arrested Monday, June 26, following an investigation by New York State Police.
Troopers were initially contacted on Thursday, June 22, with a complaint that an employee had stolen money from a Colonie business. Police did not name the business.
An investigation found that Lynch, a manager at the company, had falsified business records on numerous occasions and stolen over $9,000 since May 2023.

A convicted rapist is once again behind bars, accused of repeatedly raping and strangling a woman in the Capital District.
Albany County resident, Wyatt Bleau, age 27, of Guilderland, was arrested following an investigation into crimes that allegedly occurred over a seven-day period, beginning on Thursday, Aug. 11.
During that time, Bleau held the victim against her will and repeatedly sexually assaulted her at his home, she told Guilderland Police.

Plans to build the Capital District’s first Costco are moving forward after an environmental group trying to block the project lost in court, the Albany Business Review reports.
